The following is merely an example of our programme and will vary according to client requirements.
BUILDING EFFECTIVE TEAMS
VENUE: The Burton Hotel, Kington, Herefordshire.
DURATION: Three days and two nights.
FRIDAY – DAY ONE
5.00 – 6.00 pm Arrival
6.00 – 7.00pm Getting to know you – breaking the ice and introductions
7.00 pm Dinner
8.30 – 9.45 pm Session 1 –Characteristics of Effective Teams
What is your personal experience of teams? What happens when they succeed and when they fail? What defines a team? How are they different? How do they work? This interactive session will set the tone for the weekend and is then followed by an evening Camp Fire, communal activities and a ‘midnight’ feast.
SATURDAY – DAY TWO
7.30 am Session 2 – Morning swim with a Twist.
The team will use the buddy system to build trust as a beginning to the day’s events.
8.30 – 9.30 am Breakfast.
9.30 – 10.45 am Session 3 – Problem Solving and Decision Making.
Attendees will learn to identify the essential criteria for effective problem solving while working within teams.
10.45 am Coffee/Tea Break.
11.15 -12.30 pm Session 4 – Team Building/Tower Building.
This session provides a hands-on approach to understanding the dynamics of a workgroup, including discussion from particular case studies together with a look at issues of culture and trust.
1.30 -5.00 pm Session 5 – Outdoor Activity on the River Wye
Under the expert leadership of our specialised outdoor leader we will venture onto the River Wye, enjoying both the river and the art of working together while participating in a fun filled and very wet afternoon of team building. During the winter months, this activity will be substituted for an alternative physical activity which every member of the team can participate in – regardless of personal levels of fitness.
5.00 -7.00 pm Free Time
7.00 pm Dinner – followed by a special guest speaker
9.30 pm Session 6 – Collaborative Talent.
How can drama help us build up the confidence which teams need? Our expert Thespian will help guide us into the world of Theatre with his unique hands-on approach, thus rounding off the evening in a fun, entertaining and yet thought provoking way. This will then be followed by an optional Night Hike with our Adventure Leader.
SUNDAY – DAY THREE
Breakfast until 9am
9.30 – 10.45am Session 7 Outdoor Challenge – Building Team Trust
Can you meet the challenge? Will your team arrive at the point where it is working well together? This physical task will test your team building skills to the highest level – be prepared!
10.45 – 11.15 am Coffee/Tea break
11.15 -1 2.30 pm Session 8 Final Reflections – Monitoring Team Development
In this closing session we will craft a vision together of an ideal team. We’ll look at how to assess team members against performance and how to set goals, and an action plan, which can then be tailored to your own unique criteria for future team development. We will round it off with a plenary and chance to reflect on what we have learnt over the weekend

1.00 pm Lunch for those who wish to remain and linger a little longer.
